Design competitions are a magnet for architects seeking to demonstrate an ability to achieve design excellence. They allow architects to push the boundaries of design, foster innovation and discovery, open up perceptions of what is possible in our built environment. Some of the projects here were to just explore blue sky, others utilised smart development strategies to win. The ones that didn’t win…… I call them Beautiful Losers!
